Never meet your hero!

'Never meet your hero'. This is a saying according to the world.

It is known that sometimes we can build high expectations of someone because of what we have heard, read or seen about them. The singer with the full, long hair (but there extensions), the smiley comedian (but he's depressed), the band that are the best of friends (but they break up next month) etc etc.

I recently saw a TV interview with an actress. She was in a soap when I was in my teens and I used to arrive home from school and watch this show. I found out from this interview that whilst she was filming all these great, entertaining episodes for the last series, that she was battling a serious alcohol addiction. I could not believe it!

I am not saying that because people are in the 'spotlight' that they need to be perfect (and for the record I have nothing against hair extensions). But the problem is we expect so much from people and when we find out the truth about them, we are more often than not disappointed.

I have come to know and believe that there is only one Hero that will never disappoint us. He is a loving Gentlemen and at the same time a Mighty Warrior.

Personally, meeting my Hero was the best thing that happened to me.

You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great. (Psalm 18:35)

Can you truly depend on YOUR hero?

Unicorns

I personally do not like unicorns at all, they are creepy.

Some people think they are beautiful, but I disagree. Anyway, that's not important, because no matter what you or I think about them.. unicorns are not real.

Have you ever seen a unicorn? No, so we all know they are not real, they don't exist. Subject over.

In the same way FAITH is not real, until it is seen (in action). No matter what you say, faith is only real in a persons life when its acted upon, until then, it is just theory. Subject over.

But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works. ” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. (James 2:18)

Don't move!

Life is hard, I don't need to tell you, you know.
But this is for those who are tired of giving up, going back to square one, listening to the doubts, allowing the problems to over ride them and the like...

Those who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.
(Psalm 125: 1-2)

Think with me, this verse says 'cannot' be moved. This does not mean,' unlikely to move,' 'very hard to move', 'eventually will move' etc. No, they literally CANNOT be moved.

Even in the hardest and most scariest situations, faith and trust is there.

P.s I am not really an animal lover (at all) but I do have soft spot for this cat now :)

I found me....

WHAT???? No offense, but I really dislike this saying, it is so strange and honestly I feel awkward when people say this.

'I found me'...Hellllooo, you have always been there, next to yourself ...lol (Sorry).
I do not mean to sound rude, but what a cliche.

This is what people say when they are lost, looking for something (God). They try lots of things to fill the gap (fame, drugs, parties, over indulging in studies/careers, inappropriate relationships etc) and in the end come back with nothing.....still. So in their defence of still not having peace and satisfaction in life, they say, 'I found me', because that is all they have.

There was a young lady who said a while ago 'I found myself'. Then, some time later, she said these words......I'm an artist. I paint on a smile. I'm an actress. I make it look like i'm happy. I'm a liar. I say I'm over you.

Is this someone who found themselves?
When we know God, we know who we are and this makes us secure and as much as the world tries, we do not need to try to be anything else.

How do I look?

As Christians, our appearance is very important as we represent Jesus. I believe we are obligated to look our best as His Witness. However, we can never forget that the most important part of being a Christian is a clean, well kept life. This is what differentiates us from the girls of the World. We are conscience of our appearance, but we are not ruled by it, we do not flaunt it. Natural beauty is there because it comes from within.

How many times do we ask people, 'How do I look?'...but we must also ask God, 'How do I look...INSIDE?'. We can have the most beautiful clothes, hair and jewellery, but if our inside is ugly with grudges, jealousy, and gossip, how can we really be beautiful?

So girls, keep on looking your best and most of all seek to be beautiful inside, flowing with peace, joy, kindness etc....for sure these virtues will overflow from you and people will see you are beautiful inside out!

UCKG St Lucia

Thank God, I want to share some great new with all of you!

Today is the grand opening of our Church, UCKG in St.Lucia! It will be open everyday, doing what we always do, helping people find God and a way out of their suffering.

The address is 19 Chisel Street, Castries, St Lucia. If you know anyone who lives in St.Lucia, please let them know!

My family are St Lucian, (actually, my Dad is actually from Castries itself) and I have had the privilege to go there. I last visited in 2008. It is a blessing to know family and friends will be able to find an open door at the UCKG.

Keep St Lucia UCKG in your prayers and let us thank God for one more victory!  Below is a picture of the Island and the people in Castries. Colourful aren't we?!
