It's all about me!

I just want to share something that I have been thinking about recently. This picture is a perfect illustration...

Yes, the world does not evolve around you or me! When we fail to understand this, we are a pain! We expect, demand and cry out for everything and don't want to give anything back!
We start to fell unjustified, like we are owed something by everybody, oh what victims! (not).

Instead of being offended by people who do not act the way you want them to, try giving, try doing to others what you would like done to yourself.

I put this into practice some time ago; first it was with talking. I hated the thought of someone talking about me behind my back, so I made the decision not to talk behind people's backs either. Also, when I needed someone to pray for me or just see how I was doing, I started checking up on my friends and wanting to help in anyway I could, even if it was a small email, a text, a quick call or a prayer.

I am also blessed to know people like this. They show care and believe me, it stands out a million miles!

When we are all about me, me, me, we become selfish and stop giving and because we stop giving we stop receiving.
To be honest, even this blog is something just for me to give. I really do not like using computers and even get shy of people reading my posts (Yes, my english is bad, that's why we should all listen at school!!).

Right now I should be getting some sleep, but I know it is not about me.

The trend is to think!

For a while now I have seen countless women wearing different coloured nail polish on a few or at least one finger, often their 'wedding ring finger'. (Do we say 'polish' in UK, or is this my Lucian coming out??...I honestly don't know..sorry :\...)

Anyway back to the writing....So, this trend is also known as 'I'm free' and 'stand out' or something, amongst other names. It is basically a sign to let people know they are 'available' (even though married celebs are also following this trend).

If we do not question why we do things and simply follow anything (without understanding it), then we can easily be lead down the wrong road without even realising. Then, before we know it we are so far down that road, we are totally lost becoming a carbon copy rather than the different woman God called us to be.
Nothing is ever black and white nowadays, there is always something behind something...we just have to be wise and use our brains and find out what it is.

Don't fall for everything! Think and do what is right, following what is good...

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Phil: 4:8).

Listen up Mama!

Recently I have been looking at what more I can do to win souls. I have been so eager to share God with people, but I looked at myself and though 'but what can I do?'.

Then I realised that many people may also have this same thought. See, we all have different lives, some work most hours of the day, some travel a lot, some have children and the list goes on, we are all different!

So in my desperation, I googled 'ways a Mum could evangelise' etc and it came back with practically nothing...I was annoyed about this as I was hoping it would come up with some great results for me to practise. Then I thought, I will have to come up with my own tips and ideas....so I did! (I hope it helps the Mums out there).
The truth is, unless you are a Mum, it is difficult to really understand the role and responsibilities that come with it. It is a tough job. Likewise, I have no idea what it is like to run my own company, right? So, as I know what it is to be a Mother,  I came up with these tips and I hope it helps Mummy's!

Love you all :) xx

1. LEAFLETS IN CHANGING BAG- This is something very simple. No Mum leaves home without a big bag filled with nappies, spare clothes or food and drinks for the little one. So why not also put some small leaflets from the Church inside?

2. PARK- I have noticed that having a child is a big key to socialising with people we do not know and would usually not speak to. Mums like to talk, ask questions, 'how much did he/she weigh? Was the birth natural or C-Section? Does he/she sleep well?.......'and the list goes on! Before you know it, you are speaking to someone, so why not mention your Church and tell her about the great things that have happened to you and the people that have used their faith? (Please note, I advise to only speak to other Mum's in the Park, and make sure you keep an eye on the kids!!)

3. PLAY SCHOOL- Just like number two, you can pick up a conversation with someone in no time and start bonding with other Mums whilst waiting for your little one at the School gates! Instead of sitting, waiting for them, get talking!

4. EMAILS/FACEBOOK/TWITTER- This is a great one, and one I love to do! You can reach soooo many people like this, and best of all, you do not have to leave your home at all and can do it any time, day or night! You can share with them blogs from the Church and also messages and information about up and coming events!

5. A BLOG- Share your life and experience with Jesus with others!

6. DAILY ERRANDS- How many times have you heard someone blurt out their problems whilst standing in a bank, store or Post Office? 'I am in pain, my husband left me, my family member is on hospital' and so on? Use your daily errands (linked with number one) and give this person an opportunity for the solution to their problems!

7. PAYING BILLS/SENDING LETTERS- Why not add a Church Magazine or a small leaflet inviting someone to the Church when sending things in the post?

8. ONE MUMS DAY- Take turns to care for each others children. If you have friends that are in the same faith as you and wish to evangelise on the streets, this is a great one! Each week a different friend can care for the children whilst the other mums hit the streets! Next week, the Mum who stayed behind will go out to evangelise and another friends will stay! What a friendship!

P.s- If you can think of more, please let me know!

God is like this glass

In this video I came across, I saw that God is like this glass. Sometimes we do not see the dangers around us, but he is there protecting us from serious problems.

Now, imagine if this glass was not there? Yes, I don't want to either, but thats the reality of many peoples lives.

Lets save souls, Jesus wansts to be that glass :)

Never meet your hero!

'Never meet your hero'. This is a saying according to the world.

It is known that sometimes we can build high expectations of someone because of what we have heard, read or seen about them. The singer with the full, long hair (but there extensions), the smiley comedian (but he's depressed), the band that are the best of friends (but they break up next month) etc etc.

I recently saw a TV interview with an actress. She was in a soap when I was in my teens and I used to arrive home from school and watch this show. I found out from this interview that whilst she was filming all these great, entertaining episodes for the last series, that she was battling a serious alcohol addiction. I could not believe it!

I am not saying that because people are in the 'spotlight' that they need to be perfect (and for the record I have nothing against hair extensions). But the problem is we expect so much from people and when we find out the truth about them, we are more often than not disappointed.

I have come to know and believe that there is only one Hero that will never disappoint us. He is a loving Gentlemen and at the same time a Mighty Warrior.

Personally, meeting my Hero was the best thing that happened to me.

You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great. (Psalm 18:35)

Can you truly depend on YOUR hero?

Unicorns

I personally do not like unicorns at all, they are creepy.

Some people think they are beautiful, but I disagree. Anyway, that's not important, because no matter what you or I think about them.. unicorns are not real.

Have you ever seen a unicorn? No, so we all know they are not real, they don't exist. Subject over.

In the same way FAITH is not real, until it is seen (in action). No matter what you say, faith is only real in a persons life when its acted upon, until then, it is just theory. Subject over.

But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works. ” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. (James 2:18)

Don't move!

Life is hard, I don't need to tell you, you know.
But this is for those who are tired of giving up, going back to square one, listening to the doubts, allowing the problems to over ride them and the like...

Those who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.
(Psalm 125: 1-2)

Think with me, this verse says 'cannot' be moved. This does not mean,' unlikely to move,' 'very hard to move', 'eventually will move' etc. No, they literally CANNOT be moved.

Even in the hardest and most scariest situations, faith and trust is there.

P.s I am not really an animal lover (at all) but I do have soft spot for this cat now :)
